A friend used to tell me ‘a flight is like a Vit C tablet, a bus ride is like an orange –enjoyable, full of flavour and fun to take.’ Couldn’t agree with you more on that one Ajay!

As I travel around our fascinating country I will be using Ticketvala.com for all bus travel bookings.

On ticketvala.com, I can instantly book bus tickets from almost anywhere to anywhere across India. Apart from the instant booking and making a payment on the site, I can even book tickets and pay from my mobile. No need to print tickets - an mTicket via SMS is all I need to board my bus! & man, you can even choose your seats! & man, you can even choose your seats!

I feel as if I’ve been re-introduced to a great way to travel - I’m thrilled to be back on a bus.

Airtel - While travelling through our huge country, over such large distances, you truly come to know the value of connectivity. From the peaks of Mcleodganj to the sands of Jaisalmer, my Airtel mobile connection has not let me down. The connectivity, call and voice quality offered by Airtel has left me impressed. Their cellphone service network definitely connects India together.

I am constantly on the move, travelling from one city to another. All my blog posts and photo albums are uploaded on the go. This is where my Airtel Data Card has come in handy. Through it I can log on to the World Wide Web, any time, any where. Without the help of Airtel’s mobile connectivity, the online portrayal of my journey would not have been possible at all.

Kodax CX6230 Digital Camera - Don’t they say that ‘Old is gold’? My 6 years old Kodak CX6230 has proved faithful in this regards.

As digital cameras go, 6 years is ancient. Yet, the ‘Old Faithful’ (as I call it) has not let me down. All I have to do is just choose the right camera setting, aim and shoot. The results are stunning. It is this simplicity and ease of use that has wowed me over on this adventure across India.

Nokia E-71 - What shall we do without our mobile phones in this hyper-connected age? And if the phone is a Nokia E-71 – And if the phone is Nokia E-71 then all the gizmos for the journey are packed into one. When you are on the road as much as I am, a long battery life is a requirement and this gizmo-laden phone has not let me down. The Bluetooth headset that came with the phone has till now proved to be its most useful functionality. The QWERTY keys are very finger accessible and allow me to quickly jot down travel notes.I intend to use Mobile Office extensively so I can also upload my travelogues on the fly.All the videos that you see on the site have been taken by the 3 megapixel camera that comes with the phone. I am really impressed with the quality of pics taken from a moving bus or train with this camera.

Compaq 2100 NC - Heavy laptops are the curse of most office goers. And when you are travelling, lugging around a heavy laptop just adds to your woes. My Compaq 2100 NC rescues me from such hardship.

What’s truly great about this piece of digital gadgetry is its light weight and small size which allows you to carry it with the ease of a notebook (literally). Despite having a 12 cell battery pack, the laptop does not feel heavy. The backup battery allows me 2 full operating hours – train journeys are not so boring any more 

The red pointing stick provides really good accessibility. I do not need to carry a separate mouse on this trip.
